Rules

Series rules and race format

These rules cover eligibility, our unique paced format, and general race conduct.

Eligibility

  • Riders must hold a valid OCA or UCI license.
  • Riders select the category that best matches their experience level.
  • Experienced category is for riders with prior race experience or those who have graduated from lower categories.

Race format

  • Beginner races target ~45 minutes total.
  • Intermediate races use a shorter paced block (~20 minutes) so racers get 20-25 minutes all-out.
  • Beginners: paced segments run for ~30 minutes at incrementing speeds, then ~15 minutes all-out.
  • Intermediate: paced segments run for ~20 minutes at incrementing speeds, then 20-25 minutes all-out.
  • Beginners: 30 → 32 → 34 km/h timed segments, then race pace.
  • Intermediate: 34 → 36 → 38 km/h timed segments, then race pace.
  • Experienced: all-out from the start.

Category placement

  • Organizers may reassign riders to a different category for safety and fairness.
  • Riders who dominate a lower category may be asked to move up.
  • The goal is safe, competitive racing for every skill level.

Conduct & equipment

  • Standard road racing equipment is required, including helmets.
  • Riders must follow official instructions and course marshals at all times.
  • Dangerous riding, blocking, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.

Protests

  • Protests must be submitted to race officials within 15 minutes of your finish.
  • Decisions by officials are final on race day.

Subject to change

  • We intend to test our race formats and categories, gauge responses from participants, and adjust as needed.
  • We understand we are doing something new and will remain open to ensuring a great experience for all.
